When my Dad passed away in 1996, I took over the care for my youngest sister, who was just in 5th grade then, and our family business. Our Mom was traveling and my second sibling was away studying in nursing. I resigned from working as a nurse in a hospital and that’s when I realized I had really no one to draw strength and hope but from my heavenly Father.
Raising a little girl with no parents around was not easy. I wasn’t ready how to deal with her emotions and temper because I was also away from home when I studied nursing and just got back in 1995 after graduation. While looking at my youngest sister sleeping, I realized how much vulnerable one can be without someone to look after you. I thought, maybe that’s how God saw me, too.
PRECIOUS ONE
By Jeroselle Centino a.k.a Jiji Chai
Precious one,
I see you in the dark
Precious one.
Alone and shivering from cold and pain
Calling my name
But never letting go
You’re holding on, the same.
Precious one,
I’m reaching out to you
Precious one.
Remember how I gave my life for you
I feel it too,
Abandoned and forsaken
But there’s more that I can do.
Just come into my arms my very own
I’ll give you all the joy you’ve never known
You can count on my love
I left my throne above
All just for you, my child –
My precious one.
Your name I deeply carved right in my hand
Your need I understand
Just reach out your hand to me…
I’ll keep you in my arms my very own
I’ll give you all the joy you’ve never known
You can count on my love
I left my throne above
All just for you, my child
My precious one –
All just for you, my child,
My precious one.
